Our paper cutting knives are high-grade tools which require careful treatment
in
regrinding.
To ensure efficient cutting qualities and long life, and to avoid ‘burning’
which results
in chipping and cracking. the following must be strictly adhered to:-
1. Use the correct abrasives.
2. Sufficient coolant must be used throughout.
3. Feed of the grinding wheel must be fined and uniform.
4. Frequent dressing of the grinding wheel is necessary.
It is important to use the best suited grinding wheels, such as segments,
cyclinder or
cup wheels of the right grade. Maximum coolant (with rust preventative)
should be
used, presented directly at the grinding area.
After sharpening the burr should be carefully removed by honing. The quality
of
honing affects the useful life of the cutting edge (see guidance of honing
stones).
Our paper guillotine blades are made from high chrome
steel / HSS/TCT (cutting zone) with a soft, impact resisting back.
Post heat treatment drilling and tapping guarantees the accuracy
of our fixing hole centers.
Our experience has shown a standard bevel of 22° gives
the best result, but the following illustration must be noted.
